If you ever find that the battery on your device is running out a bit too fast, there’s almost definitely a setting that you can use to make it last longer. It’s called different things on different devices, but it’s pretty easy to find and switch on once you know what you’re looking for.
On Apple devices i.e. MacBooks, iPads and iPhones, it’s called Low Power Mode and it will usually turn on automatically when the battery reaches a certain percentage (usually 20%). But you can turn it on manually any time you like – all you do is open the Settings, find the Battery category, and click or tap on the Low Power Mode switch to turn it on.
On Windows laptops, there are a few different settings you can tweak to get the most out of your battery life, which you can find by opening the Settings app and choosing “System”, and then “Power & battery”. Battery Saver is the main one, but you can also tweak things like “Power mode” and the “Screen and sleep” settings.
On Android phones, they often call it slightly different things, but it’ll usually be in the Battery section of the Settings app. On Samsungs it’s called “Power saving”, on Motorolas and Google Pixels it’s called “Battery saver”, and you just tap on the switch or the word “On” to turn it on.
