Something I didn’t mention…

On Monday I mentioned in my email that the new Windows 10 version of Computer One Step at a Time is out.

If you have Windows 10 or are thinking of getting it, you should have a read of the full info here.

But I didn’t mention, we’ve also fully updated the “Help is at Hand” books for Windows 10.  These aren’t books that tell you how to use your PC… they tell you what to do when things go wrong, crash, go slow or simply won’t work properly.

The new version still covers older version of Windows as well, so if you don’t have them you might want to read the information even if you don’t have Windows 10.

You can read more about them here.  And if they sound helpful, you can go ahead and order a free trial set.

Of course, if you never have any problems with your PC, then you might not need them.  But if you ever do, then why not at least read the full information.

Firstly, thanks for the regular newsletters with their wealth of practical information.

Some time ago, you suggested that it would be better for us not to upgrade to Windows 10 immediately, but to wait for a bit, hoping that some of the bugs will have been sorted out before we move. It would be very helpful to all your readers if, when appropriate, you could give your views on Win10’s progress to stability. Might it be nearly time to make the leap now?

    Thanks again.

There are still a couple of bugs I would expect Microsoft to fix urgently at the moment – but the number is going down. Most people probably wouldn’t encounter any when upgrading now, I don’t think, so it wouldn’t be bad to try ti now. I’ve said to my Mum to probably wait another month or so, so I suppose that’s my general advice too!
