This week’s email is going to be a bit different from the usual tech tips and news that I share with you. This week I want to share some news of my own!
You see – in a few weeks’ time, I’m going to be bidding a very fond farewell to The Helpful Book Company. This place has been a huge part of my life, right back to the first days in our attic room at home – printing and binding the books by hand late into the night, then carrying them down to the post office on my way to my actual work in the morning.
It’s been a blast, but 18 years, five courses, 200-and-odd weekly newsletters and many books later – it’s time for me to hang up my keyboard…
You might be wondering what’s going to happen to these emails – well, don’t worry, I’m not going to leave you in the lurch! I’ll be passing the Helpful Tech Tips baton into Kathryn’s very capable hands.
Kathryn has been with us here at the Helpful Book Company for over four years now. She’s a great writer who’s worked on several of our books, but you’re more likely to know her from our online courses and the Tech Inner Circle. (That’s our membership website, which we’ll be telling you all about very shortly – watch this space!) As our resident rock-climbing, lindy-hopping, dungeons-and-dragons-playing “tame techie”, I think Kathryn is the perfect person to take on writing helpful, interesting emails for you – just like I’ve tried to do!
Over the next couple of weeks, Kathryn and I will be “co-writing” these emails, until she takes over fully in September.
And although I might be moving on, the Helpful Book Company is still going strong – producing great books and courses, giving the same fantastic service when you ring up and the same useful emails each week.
I’ll miss everyone here in our little Helpful Books family, and I wish them… and you… all the very best.
Thank you for link to the archived emails, which has enabled me to read the 21st August email.
This is to thank Julie Wakeling for her amazing work and dedication over these last 18 years, which has been a great help to people like Janet & myself who have for some 35 years been running our own business advising Architects & Engineers on Product, Technical & Legislative information.
