Like hot cakes… or hot mince pies…

A very quick message to say that the Family History videos I mentioned last time are going like hot cakes (perhaps that should be like hot mince pies, given the stacks of them I keep seeing tempting me in the supermarkets).

I don’t know whether people are getting them as Christmas presents of for themselves, but if you’re at all interested in them (and they’re at half price at the moment), best go here and read a bit more about them while they’re still around.

You can read about how to trace your family history from the warmth and comfort of your own home, finding out the facts about how your ancestors were related, when they were born and so on, but also interesting things like where they lived, if any of them spent time “inside” (and what for… any smugglers or pirates in the family?) and even maybe find old newspapers online that mention them…

Here’s the info again.

It would be useful to know which country or countries the videos cover. From my very limited experience, finding info for Scottish relatives is quite different from the corresponding info for England and Wales. Do the videos cover the whole of the UK, or just England (and/or Wales)?

        Hello
I’m not quite sure whether you mean does the offer apply in Ireland or do the videos cover researching your family in Ireland, so I’ll answer both!
The offer certainly applies – in fact anywhere in the world (though if the postage is more than the UK postage we’ll ask you to pay whatever it actually costs)
The videos are mainly about researching family history in the UK – mostly through the England/Wales records. It does include material about researching family in other countries, but it’s not the main focus of them.
Hope that helps – I wish I’d thought of explaining this in the first place as I know we have some customers in lots of different countries.

Good question – they do cover outside England and Wales but the bulk of the info is about inside England and Wales. So if you were researching a family tree that included, say, one branch that was in Scotland, it would probably be useful but if you had most of your family tree outside of England and Wales, it probably wouldn’t be so helpful.
Sorry – I wish I’d thought of including that in the info in the first place.
