Well, it’s been quite a year here at the Helpful Book Company – and we couldn’t have done any of it without the amazing support of you, our loyal customers. So we’d like to say a massive thank you, and just remind you of some of the things that have happened this year…
Four brand new books, three updated ones, two online courses… no partridge in a pear tree, though
It’s been a busy year for us in the editing team – we’ve had lots of great new products to work on, and it’s been very satisfying to get some old favourites back out there all fresh and updated.
You lot seem to agree as well, if the launch of the Help is at Hand book was anything to go by. Laura’s put together a little time lapse video of a very busy Saturday last month when those books finally came in from the printers. By the time they’d finished, you could barely move in the warehouse for post waiting to go out with the Royal Mail.
The return of the lovely Mike…
Our friend Mike Lowden (of Inner Circle fame) had to leave us for a while last year. Since he’s officially one of the loveliest people you’d ever hope to meet, we all missed him very much. So we were over the moon when he decided to come back again this summer.

…and the departure of my equally lovely husband, Tim
Of course, one of the biggest bits of news this year has been Tim stepping back from the business. It’s been a weird experience, I can tell you – and he’s got some pretty big shoes to try and step into. (Well – he’s only a 9 actually, but you know… metaphorically speaking…)
We’re all getting stuck in, though, and I hope you’re enjoying my new emails. But you can still read all of Tim’s old email newsletters here – they’re not going anywhere.
Onwards and upwards
So, with Tim on his way back to Uni, we’re carrying on into the New Year with Laura at the helm, as an Employee Owned Company.
Lots of challenges ahead, but – with your continued support – it’s onwards and upwards.
